The Trinity University of Asia (TUA) community hailed ABS-CBN as Best TV Station anew at the 2019 Platinum Stallion Media Awards held this Wednesday (November 20).

The Kapamilya network has been the choice of Trinitians since 2015, and like in previous years, its programs and personalities went home victorious as well.

Leading the winners from ABS-CBN is the country’s long-time number one program “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” which received the Citation for Socially Relevant TV Series. Meanwhile, Best Primetime Show went to “The General’s Daughter,” Best Values-Oriented Program was given to “Starla,” Best Drama Anthology was awarded to “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” and Best Morning Show was presented to “Umagang Kay Ganda.”

“ASAP Natin ‘To,” Tonight with Boy Abunda,” and “I Can See Your Voice” also took home the Best Variety Show, Best Talk Show, and Best Game Show awards, respectively

Kapamilya personalities were also honored at the awards including “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” lead star Coco Martin for Best TV Male Personality, “Gandang Gabi Vice” host Vice Ganda for Best Talk Show Host, “I Can See Your Voice” host Luis Manzano for Best Game Show Host, singer-actress Nadine Lustre for Best TV Female Personality, and “Starla” child star Enzo Pelojero for Best TV Child Personality.

DZMM Radyo Patrol reporter Dexter Ganibe was also a big winner after being named Outstanding Trinitian Media Practitioner (Radio).

Joining Dexter among the awardees for radio are Best Male Radio Disc Jockey and Best Female Radio Disc Jockey DJ Popoy and DJ ChaCha of MOR 101.9 and “Usapang De Campanilla,” which took home the Best Radio Public Affairs Program award.

The Platinum Stallion Media Awards, held in the University Theater of the Trinity University of Asia, aims to recognize the “the continuing efforts of individuals and groups in educating the public through the media and allied arts.” Winners are selected through a university-wide survey participated in not just by students and faculty but also other members of the TUA community such as parents, alumni, and school staff.
