As of Thursday, May 30, 2019, R. Kelly was charged with 11 felony counts of abuse and sexual assault. If found guilty, R. Kelly would be sent to prison for 30 years.

This is not R. Kelly’s first time in the spotlight for this. In 2008, R. Kelly was tried on child pornography and was not found guilty. He was also indicted for three counts of aggravated sexual abuse against victims between the age of 13-16 years. No other details were given except that these allegations center around an individual known as J.P. during the year of 2010.

On February, he was charged sexual assault on three teenagers and a fourth woman; he pleaded not guilty. These charges were brought up when seven women, his ex-wife included had appeared on Lifetime television and documentary, where they accused him of emotional and sexual abuse. He spent a weekend in jail before paying a $100,000 USD bail on February 25.
