Trese, a Filipino graphic novel featuring local mythical creatures will soon be available on Netflix in an anime format. The comics Trese is about Alexandra Trese, a detective that will go head to head with a criminal underworld comprised of supernatural beings in the Philippine folklore set in Manila. The comics is created by the writer Budjette Tan and artist Kajo Baldisimo.
TAITO Okiura, Netflix’s director of International Originals for Anime, confirms that Trese will soon be available in Netflix.
Executive producer for Trese is Jay Oliva who has worked on Wonder Woman and The Legend of Korra (the spin-off of Avatar: The Last Airbender) and will be produced by Shanty Harmayn and Tanya Yuson of BASE Entertainment, a studio based in Japan.
Netflix will announce the rest of the anime series details afterwards.
