Typically, it takes one’s high school performance and entrance exam results to determine whether one gets into a particular college or not.

But for Quinn Ackerman, it’ll take more than her academic performance for her to get into her dream college.

Netflix’s upcoming coming-of-age-dance movie “Work It” has Sabrina Carpenter (in the leading role of Quinn; she will also serve as executive producer) assemble a group of dancers who can join her in winning the dance competition that will ultimately decide whether she’ll go to her college of choice or not… Oh, and apart from joining her team to dance their way to the top, they’ll also have to teach her how to dance.

Alicia Keys serves as one of the main producers for the movie which began filming just last month in Toronto. Other cast members include YouTuber Liza Koshy, Keiynan Lonsdale (Love, Simon), Drew Ray Tanner (Riverdale), Michelle Buteau (Always Be My Maybe) and Jordan Fisher (Teen Beach, Hamilton).

No date has yet been announced regarding its release on Netflix. You can follow the movie’s official Instagram account for more updates (@workitmovie).
