Less than a year into their marriage, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have decided to separate. A representative for the couple confirmed the couple’s split to People Magazine: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Hemsworth, who is currently in Australia with his family, took to Instagram to say his piece on the matter. Although he did not share any details about the reason for their break-up, but he did wish Cyrus “nothing but health and happiness going forward.”

Hi all Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.
The Hunger Games actor also denied making any statements to the media prior to the post. This was likely a response to a recently published article where Hemsworth was asked to comment on his split from Cyrus. He allegedly said: “You don’t understand what it’s like.”
Meanwhile, Cyrus has yet to address the break-up directly. The Mother’s Daughter singer was last spotted on vacation in Italy with her sister and a few friends. Coincidentally, paparazzi shots of Cyrus kissing Kaitlynn Carter by the poolside spread online just after her separation from Hemsworth was made public.
Hemsworth and Cyrus’s roller coaster-like relationship spans an entire decade. They first met as co-stars on the set of The Last Song in 2010. By 2012, they got engaged after dating on-and-off but called it off in September the following year. Cyrus was later spotted wearing an engagement ring once more in 2015. She eventually reunited with Hemsworth and moved in together, only to lose their Malibu home to raging wildfires in California. The two finally tied the knot at a small ceremony in December 2018.
